Suggestions for finger food desserts
I need to make a few desserts for a benefit dinner Friday night. I typically make cake balls for this but I have a nasty case of carpal tunnel in my right hand and I know making those would kill my hand. There are usually plenty of brownies and cookies so I am looking for some different ideas. Thanks!
Re: Suggestions for finger food desserts
Philadelphia has a new chocolate cream cheese spread that I saw in a magazine spread on a cracker or cookie with fresh raspberries on top. It looked fancy!
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
This is always a hit when I make it. Caramel Apple Dip
You mix 8 oz cream cheese with one cup of powdered sugar and one teaspoon of vanilla. Spread that in your dish. Then top with caramel (I use the Marzetti Old Fashioned Caramel Dip found in the produce section; but you can certainly make your own). Then, I top that with the Heath candy bar toffee bits with chocolate (found near the chocolate chips). Serve it with sliced apples, or buy the ones already sliced for convenience. It goes super fast!

Cheesecake stuffed strawberries.
I've made them in the past (before I started blogging, otherwise I'd send a link), but they are so super easy and everyone loves them. Basic recipe is to sweeten cream cheese with powerdered sugar, add vanilla extract, and pipe into strawberries (cut off tops for flat base, then cut tips crosswise to create opening). Sprinkle chopped with pecans or walnuts. So yummy and always a hit as a finger food dessert!

I make two or three types of this each Christmas. I swap out the nuts and extract for different nuts/dried fruit and liquors.
I did a whole dinner party with mini foods-the desserts included mini cheesecakes, mini shot glass desserts, mini fruit tarts, and mini cupcakes. Here's the link:
