$28/session personal training?

Hi all, coming out of lurking.

I joined a gym yesterday and they are offering personal training for $28/session.  Is that good?  Only bad part it I have to sign up for a year, but I can freeze for up to 6 months if I need to.

 Thoughts?

Re: $28/session personal training?

  • At my gym, a one hour session is $90. I would kill to pay $28, even if it meant I had to sign a contract (I'd just be sure to find a trainer I loved.)

  • Thank you for the feedback.  I have to call him back today to let him know - I wasn't prepared to make the decision yesterday.

  • Is this for an hour or half hour session?  Its not bad.....I guess it really depends on your goals. Do you have to guarantee so many sessions a week/month?  Or can you just pick and choose when you have one?

  • Mine is $100 an hour.

  • That's really cheap. I'd be concerned about the quality of trainer you're going to get for that.
  • That is awesome!  There is a trainer I'm dying to work with that's $65/hour.  I think that's totally reasonable, but still can't swing it right now on any kind of an on-going basis.
  • I think that's a great rate! I pay about $50 per hour for mine, but if I buy bulk sessions it's cheaper... I just bought 20 sessions and it worked out to be a total of $700... mine is through a gym as well. I don't belong to the gym, just pay to go for the hour personal training sessions!
