Game of Thrones 4/22 *Spoilers*

Joffrey is such a sick pig! I haven't read the book series but I really hope he gets what's coming to him!

I wonder if Tywin Lannister knows who Arya is since he pointed out that she was a girl. I guess it's only a matter of time until someone figures it out.

How freaky was it when Melisandre gave birth to that dark smoke figure?!?

The epsiodes seem to go so fast. I can't wait until next week's episode. They seem to be getting better and better.

Re: Game of Thrones 4/22 *Spoilers*

  • My husband and I were both very frustrated with all the darkness last night. I understand night time scenes are going to be dark, but you could not even see them at times It was really too much.

As for Joffrey, I so hope he dies a slow painful death.

Cersei is a huge little whore isn't she. :) lol

Melisandre is evil. She is going to be a forced to deal with soon.

I also loved the scene with Daenerys. She really stood up for her group. She is an amazingly strong woman.

I miss Eddard and Robert so much!

This season seems to be unfolding very slowly to me. My favorite character by far is Tyrion. He just steals every scene he is in.

  • I've read the books so I'll try not to spoil anything.

There's a lot of scenes in this season that aren't in the book. All of the characters are essentially the same people, he's just over-emphasized their strengths/weaknesses in the show. George R.R. Martin is also involved in the show, so he can have as much creative freedom as he wants.

There's not a lot of love between the Starks and the Lannisters, and Twyin was never in Kings Landing while Arya was. So I doubt Tywin would recognize her.

I thought the books were going to go downhill without Eddard. He was such a strong character in the book. But Martin does a great job of developing other characters into your new favorite and villains.

Touching base on this books, are they worth reading?  I am currently addicted to The Walking Dead Comics and I love comparing shows/movies to books.  I would love to jump on the GOT bandwagon if they are awesome as well.

  • MH read the books, and after the 'birthing' scene, I was all, WTF just happened? I think he was playing dumb, but he said, 'oh, I don't remember that part.' HOW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER SOMETHING LIKE THAT? Lol.

  • The books are definitely worth reading.  They're hundreds upon thousands of times better than the show.

A lot of the stuff happening in the show didn't happen in the books or happened completely differently and so far I haven't liked any of the changes in the TV series.  Also, I have no idea how people who didn't read the books are keeping up with who all of these people are.  I mean, when Stannis was out on the beach burning the seven he just popped up there and no one said his name for about 15 minutes.  I would have been frustrated and confused if I didn't know who he was and why he was doing it.  I feel like the show is written for people who read the books or know someone who did and can fill in the blanks.

So far, the only people I think the show did really well are Tyrion, Jon, Catlyn and Robb.  The rest of the Starks aren't developed at all.  Cersei is done pretty well too, but Joffrey is creeping me out a lot more than he did in the books.

    I love Tyrion.

  • Yes the books are worth it. Like I said, there is a lot of character development. And some unexpected things happen to keep the books interesting. And Tyrion is just amazing.

feinicstine - I agree that they've done a good job with those characters. So far they're the only ones that they've stuck exactly with the character in the book, other than Tyrion.
