ndr: hilarious pic from my birthday
For my birthday this year we went to the LA Times Festival of Books. It's a really neat event held at USC. We went because one of my favorite authors, John Scalzi, was there and I wanted to get my book signed.
His next book is called Redshirts (for definition see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redshirt_(character) so we had to get a picture with him in our red shirts. He's the one who suggested that we pose like were in danger:
It was a super fun way to spend my birthday :-)
