Thanks for the love girls!

I am overwhelmed by the number of people who responded to my post about Debbie.  This is the reason, no matter what happens in my life, I keep coming back to this board.  You are all awesome. Thank you.

I am doing okay.  It is obviously hard, but we're working through the grief.  This is the first time H has lost a pet, or really anyone close to him. So, it is especially hard for me to see him struggling.

Cindy is doing pretty well.  We have a pet sitter that comes 3 days a week (H works from home the other 2).  She has a dog and is going to bring her by on Thursday when H works from home.  If they get along (which I think they will) she is going to start bringing her over when she comes to the house.  Our rental has a very large fenced yard, so they can run around with each other.

It's going to be awhile until I can get through the day without tears.  Night time, when we are laying in bed is especially hard.  But, for as much pain we are in now, I wouldn't trade the last 7 years we had with our girl.

Thank you again.

  • Katie, I missed your original post. I am so so sorry! I've been there (you know) and your words/thoughts/prayers and hugs meant a lot to me then. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers and {a hug} too.
  • Time will heal, Katie - I pray that soon your heart will be somewhat healed.  This is NOT EASY I know.  You have my email id (  dmpfromri@yahoo.com ) - I'm happy to listen :)

  • I'm sorry to hear your doggie passed. I rescued a cat 4 years ago. I drove almost 2 hours to pick him up at the foster care house. He was a beautiful siamese. Fast forward three years I found out I was pregnant and the same week he got really sick and the vet couldn't save him. He was such a sweet cat and it was such a terrible time to lose him. It's amazing how much we connect with our animal friends. They are so sweet and innocent.
  • i am so sorry. hugs.
