Would you give your cats these treats?
Our guys are on a grain-free, good brands-only diet.
But whenever we order food from our local pet food store, they throw in a bag of Science Diet hypoallergenic treats.
We give our cats maybe 2 treats each every other day. They like the Science Diet treats. Are they too vile to give them even a small quantity of these treats, or is it okay because their diet is otherwise very healthy?
Thanks!
Re: Would you give your cats these treats?
I go with it being OK to get vile treats if the rest of the diet is good.
My cats do pounce treats.
(El Gato doesn't like 'good' treats)
I say OK!
2 treats every other day shouldn't be a problem. It's like people who eat healthy and have twinkie once in awhile. Shouldn't pets get a break a eat some junk food sometimes, too?
We also do "unhealthy" treats in our house! They last longer and therefore save us money!
We give crap treats. S will not eat any of the healthier treats, and I'm not buying 5 different kinds of treats.
They rarely get them, so it's NBD.
I think they are all excited about gizzard night more than treats, lol.
5 cats. 1 baby.
I'm with the PP's. Our cats eat a really good diet, but an occasional bad treat won't be terrible.
(Just like us--a serving of potato chips isn't the best, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.)
Plus, my cats won't touch "healthy" treats. They like pounce treats and those cheapy 'temptation' ones from walmart. lol
Our treats are crap too. I'll be honest, my boys eat crap wet food as well. Dry food is their only high quality food. Cat is just too freaking picky to spend $2 on a can of food and have him walk away.
