Lurker - looking for powder room suggestions - from start to finish!
Good Morning,
I am a lurker on this board - I love the great ideas you all come up with. I recently purchased a townhome and I am stumped on what to do in my main level powder room. I thought I wanted to do a dark color on the wall - perhaps Plumage by Martha Stewart, the hardwood floors are very dark, so it may be too much. I don't have anything (towel, decor, etc) to pull a color from, so i am looking for suggestions from start to finish. Any powder room color schemes that you love? Thank you!
Re: Lurker - looking for powder room suggestions - from start to finish!
If you don't have anything to pull a color from, start with picking something out. There are millions of shades of paint to later match to what else is in there. There aren't millions of shades of accessories that you might pick out. If you are feeling totally uninspired, flip through the paint bio, the favorite paint colors blog linked on the home page of the paint bio, and other sources to find something you like. But even once you do, start with the accessories, then pick the paint.
I've never been one to have a preferred color scheme for a particular "type" of room.
What Susie said.
Our powder room came from a painting that I picked up at L&T when they were going out of business. Then I went from there.
