Rec Your Doggie Gift Faves!

A special puppy's 1-year birthday will be here in a little less than a week! H and I went to the pet store on Sunday to scope out a few ideas. We'd like to get her a couple of new things, a cushy new bed among them.

We have 2 bed options: 1) put her current bed that's in the living room into her crate and get a new bed for the living room, or 2) just get a bed to put in her crate.

The bed we bought when we brought her home was super cheap just in case she hated it or destroyed it. It's held up well and the cover zips off to go in the wash. It just doesn't have great filling (sort of like plushy fiber filling that tends to lump up together).

SOOOOOoooo...recommendations for birthday gifts for the pup! And GO!

Re: Rec Your Doggie Gift Faves!

  • The next things I want to buy are outdoor beds from Orvis for when we're chilling or eating dinner on the patio, and some puzzle toys. And Quincy is ready for his big boy collar now that he's pretty much done growing, so we'll start shopping for that.

Last Christmas we bought these back seat extenders, which have been a godsend.  Quincy loves chewing on sticks and always tries to bring them inside, so we got him this indoor stick and he loves it.

The last great squeaky toy we bought was a 3-foot-long snake with like 6 or 8 squeakers in it.  I can't find a link; all the ones I'm finding on line have a gross snake pattern on them.  This one is color-blocked brights.

Those sticks looks awesome! Zoey lurves chewing on sticks in the backyard!

We've seen some cool multi-squeaker toys at the pet store; we'll probably end up getting at least one; she's so hilarious when she finds the squeaker in any of her toys, because she'll just sit there and repeatedly squeak and squeak and squeak! She loves it!

  • Happy almost Birthday, Zoey!

For a bed, the favorite thing of all animals in the house is this: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=17656392&RN=1078&KSKU=120822     (It also fits in their crates really well. I think we'll be buying them up as we have coupons).

    Toys:

    Cuz toy

SO funny you should link to the foam bath mat at BBB!! We were just there during the Great DE Dustdown Weekend (lol), and I pointed out to H that we should get one for our back sliding door, since Zoey is always tracking in dirt/mud and water when it's damp out. I never thought to get one to put in her crate though!

Has Piper managed to "kill" any of the seams on that snake? One of Zoey's favorite pasttimes is destuffing toys once she's busted a seam.

Saw the Good and Bad Cuz toys at the store on Sunday and am definitely considering getting her one. What makes these so much more desirable than a regular ball?

Which Goughnut product would you recommend? I'd also have to find where to buy them; I don't think our pet store carries any.

We don't let Piper have it for more than about 15 minutes, because she would most likely rip it. She likes to squeak it, kill shake it, and parade it around the house, teasing the other pups.

Saw the Good and Bad Cuz toys at the store on Sunday and am definitely considering getting her one. What makes these so much more desirable than a regular ball? The squeak, and the rubber smell are great. It's like crack for the pups, and it's the one thing Elsie will leap into the water after.

Which Goughnut product would you recommend? I'd also have to find where to buy them; I don't think our pet store carries any. I prefer the green Goughnuts. I like the the stick and the round doughnut. You can order them online at Goughnuts.com They're spendy, but they have a lifetime warranty. We replaced two earlier this year.

My answers are spread throughout your questions :)
