Which BR set would you pick (clicky & PIP heavy)?

We're having a hard time deciding between two bedroom sets. We've decided on a bed but will be getting the other pieces separately.

We'll be getting this upholstered bed:

Our MBR is this color and doesn't get much light:

We'll be getting the dresser, chest of drawers, and nightstands from one of the two Bassett collections below.  In option 1 (Carmel) if we decide to buy the mirror too we'd get it without the scroll work thing at the top (just a plain square like in the second option below) and the chest of drawers doesn't shrink well so ignore the weird looking grain.

Option 1: Carmel Collection

Option 2: Redin Park Collection

  • Do the smaller drawers in the first set bother you?  So there are the 9 smaller drawers instead of the 6 in the other set.

I can't decide, LOL.  I think it will work out fine though as we don't even use all the drawers in the six-drawer dresser we have now.

  • I really like both sets.

I voted for #2 just because I think I like the lines better with the upholstered headboard, but really, I like both a lot.

Thanks!  I think you're one of the few besides me and DH, LOL.

LOL! Well, I think you both have excellent taste and would love to get either set. My IKEA-dresser-owning self is totally jealous. ;)

  • I like option 2 much better. The nightstand on option 1 is funny with the open shelf at the top and bottom. Plus, I love cherry wood and I think it goes better with the headboard.  It seems a little more classic so you could change up the styles, etc easier.
  • I don't like the slats on the bottom of the nightstands in option 2.

I like the color of the wood in option 1 and as long as it doesn't have all of that scroll work and has the clean lines like option 2, I think it would look nice with your bed and room color.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the slatted bottom of those nightstands either. I'd have to find a nice tray or a couple of baskets to put there.

They have it in an all-drawer version too that includes a charging station in the top drawer, but I kind of want an open shelf:
