Why do you think they don't film Jason being a complete a$$hat to Bethenny, like she keeps saying he is? I want to see him saying these things to her that she says he does. Perhaps she tells producers not to put those things out there to protect her husband's image, which is good of her. But, geez, they seem so broken down.
Re: Bethenny Ever After
I would like to kick that woman in the shins. I think she's the worst sort of famewh*re.
Updated September 2012.
I think he pulls it out when he knows the cameras aren't around. I can see how he could become a huge jerkhole. I like him for the most part but it feels like there is an angry person laying just below the surface and that they each know exactly how to push their spouse's buttons.
I love Bethenny. She's nutty but I like her. And omg how cute is Bryn saying "gracias" to everyone in Mexico? I died. She's so cute.
I know this show, like all reality shows, are edited to within an inch of their life so I hope that they do have some happy times and not everything is bad.
I honestly think he's smart enough to do it at times/places where there are no cameras. Like last night when he came to lunch and she went to meet him, the cameras did not follow her up there - we only heard them. I feel like there's some deal with the producers. I also think it's weird that they NEVER show reruns of her show this season on the weekends. It's Bravo - you can always catch the show 800 times if you miss it the night it's on - but hers has been pretty much impossible to catch.
And I like her - I find her interesting. Perhaps it's because I don't have a relationship with my Dad, so I have something in common with her and how it affected her (but have a great one with my Mom, so there's not THAT much in common). But she worked her a$$ off to be successful and i think what she's be able to do is amazing.
But this season is a bit painful. I've been married about the same amount of time and am 4 years younger, but I don't have a baby nor did I marry my husband after a year or whatever it was - so I am thankful that my marriage is nowhere near as hard or miserable as theirs appears to be.
I don't know how much control she has over what gets aired, but I suppose it could be a possibility that they purposefully don't film his side of the arguments, whether it's to protect his image or just because it's her show and therefore focuses more on her.
I think more likely it's that Jason saves it for behind closed doors, or when the film crews aren't around. In last night's episode he was hiding in the bedroom in Mexico during their fight.
He admitted last night that he has a bad temper, so I don't think it's merely "like she keeps saying he is."
No kidding. Life in general can "damage" people whether you have a great family or not. I think Jason could use some therapy too, but it seems like he's not interested.
Ugh it pains me to agree. I love her. I want to keep loving her but she has major issues with self destruction of all the good in her life. I blame the fame.
I 1000% love her, famewhore or not...I think she's real. She puts it out there.
I actually think their problems are "normal" for the circumstances:
1. Oopsie baby during early dating stages
2. Probably would have gotten married, but decided to a lot sooner b/c of getting knocked up.
3. Huge change in financial status between dating and marriage stages
So: baby, wedding, making a ton of cash.
That's a lot of life changes yo, famous or not.
I think they were purposely trying to get pregnant last time. I remember that being conveyed that season and when she talked about trying for number two she mentioned not knowing if she was up for temping and all that stuff again.
For someone who does not like therapy, Jason could use it in spades. I think there is a tremendous amount of anger and sadness (rightly so) over the death of his brother. Not to mention how that changes the family dynamic and no matter how much you love your parents, you feel this different kind of responsibility to really be involved with them, etc.
I think it is pretty crappy for him to constantly throw her childhood, (something she had no control over) and how it shaped her into who she is today, in her face.
I love her from way back in MS Apprentice days and I think she is brutally honest about herself and others and they can't take it sometimes. Brynn is hysterical and I was all sobby when she talked about leaving B to her friend if they died.
I really think that Jason is a seething pile of anger and angst and he really does feel like a kinda loser because she is hugely successful (even though he had/has a successful career but not HER level of success) He feels like he can't make the money but he can keep her in line by calling her out on her shitt which she is very quick to own. I do not doubt he can be a real *** in a fight.
I think Jason thinks he's just a better person/spouse than bethanny just bc he doesn't have all of her issues. He def has a superiority complex and, deserved or not, it's not conducive to a healthy marriage.
I also think a lot of it is edited for ratings and to maintain the dynamic they've set up for the show. My H know someone who worked on Jon and Kate plus 8 and apparently Jon was a giant diick to her and especially to his kids but that's not what people wanted to see.
I stand by my prediction that they will be divorced within the next two years.
I think he probably does prefer to do his fighting when the cameras are off. I think he isn't as fond of airing the dirty laundry as Bethenny is. I also wonder how he feels about the constant flamewhoring. He seems like a simple guy from Hazelton. I am not sure he reallize exactly what he was signing up for.
