You know what blog I'm kinda done with?

Thrifty Decor Chick.  I used to LOVE her blog but she must be running out of ideas because nothing she does lately seems to be thrifty at all.  Sure, if I had a few thousand to drop on my patio and had a "friend" in landscaping (am I the only person on Earth who doesn't have one of those?), it could look like hers.  Fireplace, hot tub, swirly trees and all.

Re: You know what blog I'm kinda done with?

  • I think she's been pretty open that they've been paying for everything with cash and were following Dave Ramsey religiously for a long time.

I unsubscribed from The Nester the other week.  Couldn't take the preaching anymore.  Then again I think her husband is a pastor or some sort, so I should have known better.

  • We live a "cash only" lifestyle as well, so I like that aspect, but since they paid down their debts, it seems they don't need to be thrifty anymore, and it shows in her blog.  There has been one expensive project after another for a while now.  Some people are thrifty because they need to be, some because they want to be.  I always assumed it was because she enjoyed it.  That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.  She's DIYing a lot less and buying outright a lot more, which isn't very interesting to me.  Anyone can do that.

  • I'm agreeing. The basement reno. That's cool... but it's not done? And they set up the basement with concrete floors and unfinished walls. Odd.

  • I really like her living room, but you are right, most of Sarah's projects lately have been on the more expensive side.
