The cat we got our kittens from just had her 3rd litter
Our kittens were born in October. She had a litter in late January and now had another one last night. We got our kittens from a friend that my kids ride on the bus with. I gave out the Friends of Animals info to the mom and asked her to get her mama cat spayed. I don't understand how she could keep letting her out knowing she isn't spayed and gets pregnant every time she is out
Re: The cat we got our kittens from just had her 3rd litter
I would just offer to do it for them. I've offered this to more people than I care to count and am
Hoping my current neighbor takes me up on it. And gives me the kittens to adopt out.
Btw they keep doing it bc people take the kittens and there are no consequences. This is why we strongly advise against adopting a kitten from that situation , adopters mean well but it is harmful long term because the owners keep letting the cat get knocked up
The cat's vaccinations have nothing to do with being able to spay her- most low cost clinics don't even ask for so much as proof of ownership (as many people bring in strays/ferals). Near me, it's $45 for a female which includes the anesthesia, nail trim, pain medication (but no monitoring or pre-op bloodwork)
As for the kittens, this time of year many low-cost programs offer "spay mom and the kids are free" type offers
I would take her to a low cost clinic. pp is right- I've never seen them ask for vac records. Many clinics will also give the vacs while they have the kitty.
I do indeed understand where OP is coming from. Our vet clinic (the one that I use for our small animals) requires a shot history before spaying/neutering. However! To side with PP's as well, not all vet offices/clinics require such proof. Look around your area - a low cost clinic in your area is surely available and would save the world from more kittens to find homes for (since there are PLENTY of cats/kittens in shelters at present without adding more to the equaton).
