I really wish H had more time off work.

We've been doing really well taking shifts at night, and we aren't really sleep deprived as a result. He goes back tomorrow, and man, is it going to suck.  I have a feeling I'll be asking my mom to over a lot so I can get some naps.

Re: I really wish H had more time off work.

  • I know the feeling. H and I do shifts too. He takes J until the 2:30 feeding and then I'm on for the rest of the night. I don't usually nap during the day but I do take time to at least put my feet up or lay on the couch when he sleeps. We are still working on our routine.

  • yeah - this sucks.  I was always happy when I went back to work and was all - "you're back on part time duty biitch!"

  • when my H went back to work, i still made him share the middle of the night wake ups.  lol.  i'm bossy.

it worked out well for him b/c when i am truly sleep deprived, i am an anxious mess of a biotch.  so it was a win win.

really - this is the way to go.  When I went back to work I didn't say 'oh - I work now... I don't do nights anymore.'  I'm not sure why I gave my husband 7 weeks off duty.

  • Definitely get help if you can.  MH went back at 2 weeks but my mom was out for week 3.  Every time I thought about being on my own I would cry.  But when the time came I was okay.  You will be, too.
