Dress for Black Tie wedding in Florida

I could use some help from you ladies! My H and I are going to a black tie wedding in Florida in June. I am not sure what's appropriate for my attire, but I would like to get a new dress. I am stuck on what to look for - cocktail? long?

Black tie is formal-which means gown. I would go with a 3/4 length at least. Also it's a  wedding and you don't want to be the person dressed to go to the club at someone's wedding. You should go with the half rule also, If you're showing skin on the top half-cover up on the bottom half. My opinion is the dress you are looking at at Nordstrom is cute but too casual for a black tie wedding. Hope that helps.

Wear something formal. We had our wedding in FL and while it wasn't black tie, it was semi formal at a pretty fancy place and so many of our guests assumed it was going to be casual (even after we told them it wasn't) just because we got married in FL. I would wear a long gown.

This dress is cute, but I agree with others you should choose a formal dress for black tie wedding.
