Bobbing case getting Jammed :(

Hi ladies!

I was wondering if ANYONE could help me lol...I'm desperate!  My sewing machine keeps getting jammed!  I have done EVERYTHING and it's still a no go :(  The thread keeps wrapping around where the bobbin case is located.  It won't even sew an inch before it gets jammed.  The machine I have is a Singer model 2932.

TIA!

Re: Bobbing case getting Jammed :(

  • Are the bobbins the right brand and size and also is your thread coming out the right direction with you thread the bobbin.

  • What happened right before it stopped working, and what were you sewing?

I don't own a singer, so I don't  know if you can, but did you take off the cover plate to make sure that there wasn't any thread tangled up behind the bobbin holder? I've had that problem before with my Viking.

  • I have a Janome, but I had this problem. Something happened where the needle pierced the bobbin case. That put a tiny hole in the bobbin throat (the holder I guess?). That hole turned into a snag, so every time it turned, the thread would get caught on that.

  • An alternative to what the others have suggested - on my basic Viking machine, this kept happening to me. It was because my machine doesn't wind the bobbin correctly (with the up/down motion when winding). When you wind another bobbin, observe to see if that could be the problem. (Of course, investigate the other options too!)
