Early Weekend Plans and Thirsty Thursday treat

Screwdrivers, anyone?

Hope everyone is off to a good start today, can we kickstart our weekend plans discussion?

The dinner last night was really fun.  Not only did we have a birthday in the group but my BFF's H got a promotion, so we had a couple of reasons to toast our drinks!

Today I get to leave early for the team building event, and I am off tomorrow, so I am pretty much only work a half day today and then getting paid to play outside with my coirkers.

Tomorrow I have a massage scheduled, then some grocery shopping to do, and not much else planned!      Sat/Sun we don't have any big plans, thank goodness!   Seems to be a quiet weekend for us at this point but who knows if something will come up before then.

What about you?

Re: Early Weekend Plans and Thirsty Thursday treat

  • Nothing really planned. Gotta do the normal cleaning and laundry. Tomorrow night I am watching my friend's kids because she has a softball double header game tomorrow night. This weekend I have to get going on some paperwork hardcore for something that I need to get done.

Luck you to get our early :)

  • Yum, screwdrivers!

I had a good night: my boss sent me home early so I missed traffic and got to relax before book club. We had a big group this month and the discussion was lively, plus I got to drink a lot of wine since I wasn't driving :-)

Tonight would have been my second dance performance but since I can't go I plan on watching a movie and moping on the couch. My friend is coming over later for drinks.

Friday I'm meeting with MIL to finalize plans for the baby shower we're cohosting (ick) and then meeting up with friends if I feel up to it.

Saturday is neighborhood clean-up day which I hope to be able to participate in without crutches. Then we're meeting a huge group downtown for bar hopping for a friend's birthday.

Sunday we're brewing beer and having friends over to bbq.

  • Yay for leaving early, and Friday off, that's always fun!

I have nothing to do after work today (first time all week that's happened) so I'm uber excited about that.

I have a half marathon on Sunday, that's really the only thing planned.

Honestly, the biggest thing I'm looking forward to is sleeping in on Saturday!

  • Yay! I love screwdrivers!

OPS - I'm excited for your weekend, it sounds like it's going to be a blast!

I don't even think I've thought about this weekend. There will be copious amounts of booze, hanging out with my bff Mary, and chill-laxing. :)

I've also wanted to try some new restaurants downtown and see how the construction is going on Front St.

  • Tonight is laundry night -- but the rest of the house is spotless so that makes me happy. I even bleached the tub!

Tomorrow hubby has a bachelor party to go to so I'm going to order some Thai food and work on my knitting. I'm trying to teach myself and it's slow going.

Sometime Saturday and Sunday I have to find a dress to wear to a wedding and pick up the rest of the stuff for our new doggie. Other than that, we don't have any plans. I should probably work on my paper.

  • Sounds like a good couple days for you OPS!  Enjoy!

Tonight H has a manager's outing (bowling), so I'm going to go home and watch all the shows I have waiting on the DVR, order takeout and sit on the couch with the heating pad for my vicious cramps.  Woo hoo!

Tomorrow we'll just chill and maybe watch a movie because we'll be up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to drive 4.5 hours to H's parents' house.  We're taking them out to dinner as an early Mother's Day/anniversary present since we probably won't see them in May.  Then we'll drive back on Sunday at some point.

Is it bad that the reason I never mind going to visit my IL's is that we always pick up Mary while we're there?  LOL

shoot, if my IL's had Mary at their house, I'd want to visit them more often as well!  That's a pretty strong incentive right there.

We get it from one of H's friends, but his dad knows we smoke so he covers for us with MIL.  It just makes them so much more tolerable!  :)

Ha! I do a good job of putting in eye-drops and making sure I don't reek, but I love that I can go to my ILs for movie night a little less sober. LOL

  • H and I are going to find where he's taking his ASE tests next week. They aren't at the normal college he always goes to for his classes. Other than that, nothing. Maybe swimming.
