Where would you go for a three day weekend?

Early summer. Anywhere. What's your reason for there?

I'm going by myself, hopefully, but don't worry about that part.

Re: Where would you go for a three day weekend?

  • New Orleans or Vegas, but not by myself.
  • An all inclusive beach front resort with clear water

  • If I'm not worrying about the by myself part, I would go to Savannah b/c it's not too far away and I'd like to go again when I'm not in the 2ww wondering whether I'm pregnant and not getting my drink on as much as I'd like to.

But if I were going by myself, probably to the beach - maybe St. Augustine.

  • Montauk.  I love it there.....and I'm not in the mood for air travel lately.

  • Well, are you flying or driving?

  • I really love Quebec City. I would go there for a 3 day if I could, and early summer is beautiful there. Its like going to Europe in some ways, but closer.

  • Hmmm. By myself - I would either go some place beachy (gulf coast of FL or maybe San Diego or something) or maybe NYC.  I'd either relax on the beach by myself with my nook (sounds like heaven right now) or I'd want to be some place where there are tons of things to do and I can do whatever I want without worrying about what someone else wants to do.  I could see a show of my choosing, eat at restaurants I want, and just wander around.  And wherever I went, I would not want to have to rent a car.

  • This is helpful. I could fly or I could drive, it doesn't really matter to me. I just need a weekend away with no one to take care of, and h would like me to go away so I stop pouting about his various weekend guys trips.

I think I'm leaning toward something low key. Maybe a yoga retreat, or a place with a nice spa to spend half a day, or a place with some scenic yet relaxed hiking, or a place with goofy antique shops to putter around in. I like cities, but I'd probably enjoy that more with h or a friend.

  • I'd go to NYC, but I have people in NYC who would want to be visited, lol. Now I'm thinking QC or Montreal might be really good. Maybe I'll investigate taking the train.

  • mind if I ask where you live? If you need any recommendations about QC let me know. It's one of my favorite places. Smile

Maybe Sedona, AZ then?  I've never been there, but I want to go some day and it sounds like it might have what you want/need.

  • What state do you live in?
    f.k.a.= Derniermot
  • if you want a beach, i highly recommend st. pete beach over clearwater beach.

  • I've been wanting to go to the fingerlakes in NY for a while.  It's about 4 hours from me, so a good weekend trip.

Me too!  This is pretty high on my weekend getaway list.

For a yoga/spa type of weekend I would head out to Arizona.   Gorgeous and relaxing.

  • Probably you should come to Maine.

I'll give you a huge list of things to do/places to putter. And we can meet for one dinner/drink - see? Low key, no obligations, but one fun nestie meetup!

  • i would go to a yoga retreat type place.  preferably in the mountains where it's cool.  nothing but massages, yoga, hikes, and reading.  something where talking to strangers isn't a mandatory part of the whole shebang.  and where i can nap anywhere i want without being disturbed or making plans.  in a chair on a porch.  in a hammock.  by the pool.  the kind of place where slipping into sleep is easy and free.
    kiss it, nest.
  • I'd go to see my parents and Grandpa.  I don't go on "vacations;" I go home.
  • Bermuda.

    1. You can fly direct from Philly in about 3 hours.

    2. The spa at the Fairmont Southampton.

    3. The Fairmont Southampton.

Thanks a lot, LTP! (And I wasn't really around for the last couple days, but I'm stoked for you and new adventures.)
