I am starting to feel like I might want to seek the *cough* companionship of a man. But now I am scared of getting the herp.
I have never had a cold sore.
I dont want to get it.

Re: ML has freaked me out
dh gets GIANT cold sores every time he gets stressed. he had gigantic one for all of holy week/easter and just as that one cleared up, this evolution scandal hit and he's pretty much washing his face in abreva.
i have NEVER had one. feel free to take that as 1) a miracle 2) anecdotal proof that you won't catch it or 3) evidence that i dont' kiss my H very often
Honestly, you may already have the virus in your body and will just not ever have a breakout.
I have the herp 1 (cold sores, not herp 2 - genital whatever) and I have not ever had a cold sore in my life.
I was told that loads of people HAVE the virus, but your body suppresses it and you just won't ever have breakouts, so you can go around kissing people with cold sores and be safe.
Not that I would.
My H also gets them every time he's stressed/under the weather and I have also never had one in 15 years together. Surely I'd have had one by now if I ever was going to.
I choose to take this as evidence of some sort of superpower ;-)
I would not be at all surprised if I was one of the ones whose body suppresses it as I am sure my dad is also. My mom, brother, and sister all get cold sores and I've never had a single one. There is no way growing up I didn't come into contact with it through a shared cup.
Daycare is SO exhausting!
