I bought similar ones at bed bath and beyond and had used the 20% off and got a great deal.  I had to go a few times since I was limited on the # of coupons each visit.  The quality is fantastic nd I expect them to last a lifetime.  Love them!

I might need 12-16 plates, but I don't need that many mugs, so for that, I would go with C&B or somewhere else where I can buy the open stock.

They're very similar but I would still go with the C&B because for a $10 price difference, I like the look them better and the cost difference is not enough to make me go for the cheaper chicken.

The differences between the two may be slight, but I think they make a difference.  I prefer the C&B dishes....I just think there is something about them that is more refined.

I prefer the Crate & Barrel dishes...the ones at Target have too big of a "lip," I guess you would call it, so it looks like a smaller eating area! The ones at C&B are like the pp said, more refined.

I agree with The BridesMom.  The slope on the Target ones make them look cheap.  I like the softer edges of the C&B ones.

I agree on th C&B dishes. With all white dishes, the lines become extra important and the C&B ones look much more refined to me. Plus they arent that much more expensive, they typically sell open stock and are likely to have coordinating pieces for a long time. I can see target not having coordinating pieces next season. Plus, check the C&B outlets- you might have lots of luck with coordinates in their B&M outlet stores.

I have some of the C&B dishes and they are very sturdy. I'm a butterfingers and they've hit my granite counter tops more than once without sustaining any real damage. The extra $10 would be worth it to me!

I think I agree with you, but where is the chicken?  Or am I seriously this tired?

Also check out your local Home Goods if you have one, mine ALWAYS has tons of white square dish sets.

I have those C&B dishes and love them  My kids use them too and so far no chips.  We've had them for at least 2 years now.  I also like that if I drop one plate I can go and just replace ONE plate at C&B.  Good luck with your decision!

C&B seems to have less of a rim and seems shallower as well.  I would go with C&B.  I've found square plates to be much bigger than round ones (if that even makes sense) - so make sure they fit in your cupboard.
