Is this the mask of pregnancy?
Except I haven't been pregnant in nearly 15 months? Gah.
I have a patch on my forehead that is just slighlty darker than the rest of my skin. It looks like I have dirt on my forehead. Really awesome, really. H asked me the other day why I had dirt on there.
Any tips for how to improve the appearance or help it fade? Or cover it?
Looks like it can be linked to BCPs, so maybe that's what suddenly brough it out.
Re: Is this the mask of pregnancy?
yes. i got it with BCP and when pregnant. nothing but patience, biooil on my face nightly, and staying out of the sun helped. i also put conceler on my patches (using a brush) every day, which i figure offers an additional layer of sun protection beyodn the SPF in my face lotion.
my skin is still pretty uneven in tone. it ticks me off.
What is the bio-oil? I saw that retinol is a treatment.
I have hyperpigmented skin as is, but that tends to be temporary - and will fade over time. This is killing me!
sounds like it.
i WOULD KILL A PUPPY to have it on my forehead. i am blessed instead, to have it on my upper lip. i look like hitler. and even though i stayed out of the sun most of my entire vacation (and wore a thick layer of sunscreen), it still got pretty dark. it was bad.
it's starting to fade as my tan fades and i went to the derm for a perscription for a special lightening cream which seems to be working.
I think so. I have it on my cheeks, the left being significant worse than the right. It gets bad bad when I've been out in the sun ( even with sunscreen ) and when estrogen levels are high ( so ovulating, popping out a kid). Breastfeeding has suppressed all that, but now that the weather is warming up, it's coming back.
Do not use the Clinique stuff (better than Clinical stuff) it made it worse.
well, bio oil helps scars and discoloration fade (according to the box) and i was using it for stretch marks anyway. my spots did seem to fade faster with it than without, but it was still MONTHS.
you can get a prescription something or other that allegedly fades them faster, according to my friend who has a derm on freaking speed dial.
i tried that clinique dark spot corrector cream and that was a waste of money. i hung in there for weeks with NO change. zip. nada.
oh yeah, and once i got a "skin tone correcting" facial because i thought that would help. other than the typical benefits of a facial, i'm not sure if it did or not.
