I'm going to ask my mini pill question again because nobody responded last time

Has anyone been on the mini pill while NOT breastfeeding?  Or am I the only one, ever?  I'm on it and I never get my period.

yes, i was for a couple months.  the lack of a period kept freaking me the hell out, so i went back to the regular pill.

I'm on it now, but it's only been a couple of months.  Things seem fine so far. Spotting at first and an early period the first time.

I hope it stays fine.  I've heard a lot of horror stories about this pill and I can't take the regular one. Ugh.

NOt while not BFing, no. But it's likely you won't get your period, since you don't have that "off week" with the sugar pills - you just take it back to back.

When I worked at PP, we had several patients who took it because they needed something with no estrogen.  I've never taken it, but have had Mirena (same idea, no estrogen, progesterone only).  When I had Mirena before I had my kid, no period.  Now that I've had my kid and have Mirena, just occasional spotting.  I don't mind it, but the IUD is pretty effective so it doesn't make me nervous.  I'm not consistent enough to rely on the minipill for BC purposes.  That answer may not have been very helpful, sorry!

I did.  Dr put me on it for 6 months in an effort to shut my system down and lessen my adenomyosis symptoms.

Sadly - it didn't work.  I bled like a mofo.  off and on.

I didn't think that would happen since the depo shot completely shut me down for two years.

I was on it for a while because combo pills/methods made me loony (nuvaring was the worst) and my gyno refused to give me a Mirena because I hadn't had kids.

My friend's wife was on the mini pill 3 months PP (I don't know if she was BFing) and got pregnant.  With twins.  They now have 4 under 4.  I die.

this is why I was always afraid to take it. I don't trust thatshit at all.

I took it and was not a fan.  I bled the entire time I took it, it just would not stop.

Only while BFing, but I'll answer anyway. And I had regular pp periods starting at about three months out. My body is very insistent about having regular, regular-length periods and seems to pretty much ignore any attempts to skip or re-set them using a pill. I'm on Yaz right now and it's supposed to shorten my periods to like four days, at which my body laughs heartily and continues to do its own thing. 

The mini-pill was fine for me after DD1, but when I went back on it after DD2 was born, my body went wacko, I spotted for a month straight and stopped taking it on doc's advice.

A couple of work friends got pg while bfing AND taking the mini pill.  I was so nervous taking it WHILE bfing that I actually set my phone alarm to remind me to take it.  I avoided DH like the plague between the time when I started cutting back on bfing (when Elizabeth started solids) and I had my iud put in.  I was terrified of getting pg again.
