Which half marathon training schedule do you use?
I've used HH in the past. I just looked at the FIRST one and at 12weeks (where I am now) the long run is 10 miles. EEK.
What do you use?
Re: Which half marathon training schedule do you use?
yup, i used hal higdon's half training too. the novice version.
do you have time to train? start at whichever point you feel comfortable with and follow from there. that's what i'd do.
I've used HH in the past and like it okay.
For my last few 1/2's (and my only full) i've used a plan from the book "Marathon Method" by Tom Holland. It has only 4 days of running/week, which I find nice because it allows me a few days to focus on cross training, which helps me keep from getting burned out.
I'm just starting half training for the first time and am NO pro. I thought I'd share my ideas anyway.
I created my own plan on smartcoach from runnersworld.com. I like it because it took into account my most recent race time (10K) and planned it based on how many kms I wanted to run a week, when my long run is, etc. Looking over the plan, it seems totally doable for me.
