Here's a funny story for you
courtesy of my awesome weekend. I'm sorry if it gets long.
So on Saturday, my roommate and I had already made plans to go to a concert in a city about 30-40 miles from us. The band was one that I heard for the first time at another show last summer, before I left H and moved to this area. I had "liked" the band on Facebook and got a friend request from the bassist, and then we started chatting and became friends somewhat. About 8 weeks ago he even called me to ask if they could use our house as a location to shoot scenes for their first music video. That actually fell through, but roomie and I still hung out with them while they were in town and got to watch them film the video. Good times.
Anyway, we were having a really great time at the show on Saturday. We were drinking and hanging out with some of the guys before they went on, and the lead singer had some family members there. We met his (very good-looking) brother and his cousin. It turned out that his cousin is going through a divorce, too. How this came up I have no idea, but cousin told me this within like the first 30 seconds of meeting. Like I said, we were drinking. So naturally I said, "Hey, me too!" I'm obviously too friendly. He gave me a huge hug and clung to me right away, but he was not attractive in the least. Then he told me that he's got two kids, one being a brand new baby. He seemed nice enough, and I couldn't figure out how to blow him off without being straight up b*tchy (which I only do in appropriate situations).
He offered to buy me a beer, but I was drinking water at the time and told him I was trying to sober up. By this time, the band was on and roomie and I were up close to the stage with another friend of ours and the lead singer's hot brother. Cousin kept trying to get me to dance with him, or just trying to get me to be close to him, but I totally was not feeling it. He even asked me at one point what I want out of life. Really, dude? I met you an hour ago. I just told him that I want to travel and I don't want any kids.
So the band is between songs, and Cousin is standing right in front of the lead singer, giving him a beer. Singer decides to make a public congratulatory announcement to Cousin about his new baby. That's when a random girl turns around, looks directly at me and says, " Oh my god, congratulations!"
Wow. I could have died.
It was all in good fun though. I wish I could have seen my own face when she said that. I just told her, "Um, no. I just met this guy."

Yes, I was able to ditch him later. After the show everyone was hanging out, and the hot brother and the hot brother and I separated ourselves from the group. The cousin was kind of miffed, but dude, take a hint.
To be honest I think he might have just been looking for a one night thing. Obviously you had differences in what you wanted but since you were both so recently divorced maybe he thought you'd be down for a ONS?
Meh, I definitely wasn't getting the ONS vibe from him, as there was zero chemistry at all. I think it's more that he's kind of goofy and isn't really playing with a full deck of cards.
