Bridal Shower apps

Help!!

I am in charge of appetizers for a bridal shower this Sunday, and am feeling totally clueless of what and how much to make.

I need to make enough for 45 people.  The lunch is being catered and this is the menu:

Assortment of wraps: fresh roasted turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce, roasted turkey, roast beef with boursin cheese, black forest ham with cheddar cheese, chicken and tuna salad, The Far East (not even sure what this is?  hummus?), Wild Cap (again, no clue...), grilled veggie.

Caesar and Roasted Rustica

Asian Pan Seared Salmon Salad with hoisin ginger dressing

Fresh Lo Mein Salad

Mixed green salad with raspberry vinaigrette

 The only ideas I have so far are a fruit platter (fruit kebobs... pretty sure I found the idea on this board) and a veggie platter.  HOW CREATIVE, RIGHT?  If anyone has any ideas, they would be much appreciated

So for everyone else, there are 3 types of green salad and an assortment of deli sandwiches.

Are you in charge of the apps or the sides?  Because the only side is salad right now.  I think veggies and fruit are a good start for sides, but are you supposed to be providing apps?

Hi   I tried to edit this darn thing about 10 times but it looks normal in the edit window... I will try again.

I am just in charge of the appetizers.  The MOB is in charge of the menu and I guess she wanted three salads (lol)??

So yes, in addition to the fruit and veggie platter I do need some more appetizer ideas.  I am just nervous about providing enough (and on the other hand, not too much) and picking some dishes that flow with the rest of the menu.  There is a kitchen at the venue, so I will have an oven available to serve items hot.

That's a pretty substantial menu. I would do a nice cheese plate with nuts and fruit. Maybe a combination of Brie, Manchego, and a blue or aged cheddar. Then serve with almonds, grapes, and apple slices. I agree with the veggie and fruit plates as well.

My simple answer is:

variety of mini quiche

cheese and crackers

fruit and veggie platters

 

If you want to go up a notch, substitute something like this for cheese and crackers.  (Use store-bought jam - while I'm sure homemade is lovely...as if lol)

Like Jamie said, since the menu's pretty filling already, I don't think you need to serve much.

 

Oh, and for the code gook, I bet if you delete any white space all the way up to the last letter of your post, you might get rid of it.
