I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen all up
That sucks. Do they even replace screens on iPhones or is this one of those "you're SOL, time to buy a new phone" things? Bummer.
Re: I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen all up
The screen can be replaced.
Oooh, this is good news. I'm so happy! I am kicking myself for not buying the stupid insurance with the phone, though.
It's the 4S - I've had it since whenever they came out. October? I like this answer best of all. New phone! I'm going to the Apple store this weekend.
And, um, I do have an Otterbox.
Apparently it was quite a violent drop it suffered.

No on the Ortterbox! It is not approved by apple because it insulates it and kills the battery. It is also one of the heaviest cases and will make your phone hit a lot harder when dropped.
Apple suggests the candyshell by speck. I also have an iVisor reusable cleanable screen. The life proof case is also good (and light) but hasn't been fully tested by apple yet.
