Do you have Pottery Barn towels? Worth it?

I've been thinking about purchasing some PB towels.  I've got a variety of towel brands, some from Target (which some here recommend but I don't care for) and from BBB (which I am not in love with).

Do PB towels wear well over time?  How do you find them?

Re: Do you have Pottery Barn towels? Worth it?

  • I broke down last summer and bought some from PB. I like them, they wash well and haven't faded or anything, but I dont feel like they are as soft as they should be for what I paid for them.

My mom recently ordered towels from Frontgate and they are AMAZING, they are the softest towels I have ever touched in my life! But she spent a sh!t-ton of money on them and no way would I ever spend that much on towels...

  • We got a set of PB towels for our wedding back in September and they've worn well and look like new. (Expect for the white towel that DH used to sop up our washing machine leak....grrr. We'd had the towels for a week at that point. lol ) I don't think they're anything special quality-wise though. They're not any softer or more plush than towels I've had from Target. So my overall impression is that they're fine, but overpriced for what you're getting. Some of the pretty patterns might be worth it though.
  • I have to say, I disagree with the above posters. I think PB towels have an amazing balance of softness and absorbency. I can see why the other posters would say the towel's aren't soft enough for the price, but I think if they were any more plush they wouldn't be very effective for drying. they are VERY thick and warm, are quite soft, and dry very well. I would definitely recommend them.

we bought a set from PB for dh 3-4 years ago and they didn't wear as well as our fieldcrest towels from target or towels we've had from bb&b. as such, when we decided to buy new ones for our master bath this year, we didn't go with PB. we went w/some egyptian cotton ones we got at a steal on thefoundary.com. it is too early to tell how they will wear, but we love how soft and absorbent they are. i had frustration that i ordered them and it took over a month for them to ship/deliver (they weren't even backordered), but you couldn't beat the price and now that we have them, the quality for the price.
