What kind of makeup with bright coral dress?

Going to San Francisco tonight for drinks, dinner, friends! Got the cutest bright coral/tangerine colored bodycon dress from Bebe (long sleeve and just above knee...form fitting, but got in a M/L so I don't look like I'm working the streets) and JS strappy nude heels. Going to wear gold bangles/earrings. And the best part...I'm going to Nordstrom to get my makeup done, yay! I know the makeup artist will probably have no problem deciding what to do, but what kind of look would you go for? Smoky eye? Bright lips? I have blonde hair, blue-green eyes, and fair to medium skin if that helps.

Re: What kind of makeup with bright coral dress?

  • actually, I'd keep the makeup more subdued. with a bright colored bodycon dress and sparkly jewelry, you don't want your makeup to compete with those. at most, I'd do some champagne or rose gold kinda shimmer around my eyes and a sheer coral lip.

I wear coral all the time.  My complexion is pretty much the complete opposite of yours (dark hair, dark eyes, olive skin), and I wear the makeup pooh suggested with it.

  • I'd also keep it in the gold/neutral realm, with shimmer.
A big old middle finger to you, stupid Nest.

fwiw, my complexion is fair, light eyes, dark hair. my skin tone is very neutral, I wear warm and cool colors equally well.

This describes my color as well, but I never wear coral lipstick because it makes my teeth look yellow. The closest I can come is a watermelon/poppy pink (which is not really coral at all, I know).

I didn't mean you, I meant OP who's blonde haired and blue eyed :)

  • I know. it was for her information. you know, "oh this poster brought up this point that I always forget, I forgot to mention my own coloring."

my sister is the same coloring as the OP, and I'd rec the same makeup for my sister too.

  • I disagree, subdued is for daytime, you gotta nighttime it up, lol.

Go for a bronzy-glowy skin look with lined shimmery eyes, and a bright coral lip, something like this:

Or with bronzed skin, green-gold shadow, white liner to make your eyes pop, and bright coral lips, I love this:

I love this too - bronzed skin, coral blush & lips, green liner & huge lashes:

Have fun tonight!  Would love to see pics of your makeup and dress after :)
