I think I'm going to write a sitcom about this team. Hoo lordy.
So, we had "practice" last night. Hard to have anything official since its just park district softball and people have things like LIVES of their own, so there were only four of us there.
The "manager/coach/whatever" of this team spent the whole time trash talking the people that weren't there, and saved the most of her vitriol for the guy who used to manage this team when we played on it two years ago (Admittedly, this guy is a Class A Douche who the last time I was around him spent the whole time showing me pictures of his Russian stripper girlfriend. He told me she is Russian, and I am jumping to conclusions on the rest based on what I cannot unsee.)
THEN, she tells me that three of the new guys on this team she knows because she did community service with them. And by community service, I don't mean she woke up and said, "you know what? I have no job, I'm going to go volunteer somewhere." I mean she was arrested for selling Oxycodone to an undercover cop with her five year old son in the car and apparently has the greatest lawyer ever because he managed to get her pled out to Disturbing the Peace. I now know that one guy got 18 days of community service for punching a cabbie, and the pitcher had a DUI. Sweet.
And last night I just found out that this league goes until the first week of?
AUGUST.
I had no idea that something that started the last week of April would go on so long. Good gracious.
On the other hand, I got lots of great help on how to learn to hit, so, there's that?
My fiance now understands why I was not stoked to do this league in the first place. I feel slightly vindicated.
Re: More softball fun for y'all...
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
See, this is why you really DON'T need to have the same hobbies. Why can't you just go to a couple of his games and cheer him on while drinking beer? Are you the one who also said her FI gets all butt hurt if you go to bed before him?
He sounds high maintenance.
There is no alcohol allowed at the park
I shouldn't complain about him, really. He is the kindest person I have ever met, and would drop everything and do something I asked him to do. But I think sometimes, his being an only child rears its ugly head. He is used to his parents having nothing else to do but whatever he wanted to do. We work on this :-)
LOL. My H was the baby. Each birth order has it's, shall we say, quirks.
Also, have you never heard of a flask? I'll even send one of mine to you. I mean, I don't own flasks...
There may be vodka making an appearance in my water bottle very soon :-)
LMAO!
