A pondering IHO today's music polls
Does disliking most people's music choices mean that yours are inherently superior, or that you're probably the one with the bad taste? And does stopping to wonder this mean that you're officially no longer an emo youngster?
Re: A pondering IHO today's music polls
I don't think differing opinions necessarily have to be a value judgment. I like my music and don't like yours; you like yours and don't like mine. I find it hard to wrap my mind around the idea that this makes one or the other inherently "better." Different people just like different things.
Unless you're talking about liking Justin Bieber or something, because that's just crap.
But maybe this means I'm not an emo youngster either.
Whenever I hear Chesh's IRL name I think "Scissor" --MontereyBride
I think all of my musical choices are ML side eye worthy.
But I still rock out to oldies sometimes. Does that redeem me? Probably not.
oh i love this. please tell me what you think my music says about me!
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
I love that this was your pick. lol
Kuus - I still get insecure b/c my musical tastes are so mainstream.
The only music I judge people listening to is the really really hard core heavy metal that is a screaming loud noisy mess because I just don't see what there is to LIKE about it. How can that be enjoyable to listen to!?!?
Other than that I say rock out with yo bad self!
Different strokes.
The only music I don't like is country (although for some reason I can't turn off the radio if a Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift song comes on, wtf) and slow-jam R&B. I don't think I'd end a friendship over it, though.
Your two favorite songs made me sure that you're my soulmate.
I think I'm just realizing that if my music tastes get any more maudlin, I'm going to have to put on a knit hat with a pom on the top and go full on hipster.
DMB makes my anus pucker.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
And I, too, would like to be judged on my song choices.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
He could papier-mache his house with his millions (250). And your anus.
I like precisely ONE DMB song. And is the one in my sad music poll.
Alas, money can not buy taste.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
Ooohh. I see.
