Date outfit help, please! (and JM, come in!)

I have a date tonight (yay!) and we're going to a live NPR event at a nice concert hall/auditorium downtown and grabbing happy hour before hand. I have NO idea what to wear...so I'm going with "dressy" jeans, a dressy top and heels.

I found this top yesterday and love it...but I think it's really bright. It's "geranium" but almost bright orange/coral? I know this color isn't bad on me...I wear coral often and people often say it goes well with my skin tone but this is a bit orangy for me. I don't want him to be like "whoa., holy blindness Batman! WTF is she wearing" (we're both pretty casual people) I'm also not crazy about the side flower...but I haven't found much else that I like. This is the kind of look I'm going for, but the color is SO.BRIGHT. But it's a bit dressier, which I want. I also have a black 3/4 sleeve sweater I'll probably wear over it because it's a bit chilly today.

*JM-as our resident male...what are your thoughts on a chick wearing a cute top, but a VERY bright color? With a side flower decal thing?

 

 I did find this top at Express. It's cute on (better than the pic of me in it) but much more casual. I'd dress it up with a long necklace and earrings.

 I also bought this top from ATL..very cute on (no pics, sorry) but not sure about it. I'm not sure it's dressy enough, but it's pretty on and I have a necklace that goes perfectly with it.  

I'm welcome to any other suggestions...I can run to BR, ATL, Gap, Macys and Express at lunch time.

I think the first top looks great! Especially if it's paired with a sweater which will tone it down a bit if you feel like it's too much.

I'd go with the first top.  It's cute and it shows cleavage.  Cleavage always gets the guy!  LOL

Like the first - and it really looks way better on YOU than it does on their model.  I would have never bought it if I just saw the shirt on the website, but seeing it on you makes me want to grab one!

thanks ladies! I just tried them all on for a friend at work, and she like the ATL one the most! But said the color was a bit much and it didn't look good with a sweater. She voted for the ATL gold/ivory top as she said it looked best on me and fit the event the best. I'm leaning towards the first one though...you're votes have swayed me!

I'm in the minority but I don't like the first top.  I think it is too blousy and doesn't show off your figure enough.  I like the one from Express and ATL better.

I like the color and the crisscross of the first but I like the flattering shape at the waist of the other 2 shirts more.

I like the top you had a link to the best and is a nice contrast in terms of color with your jeans compared to the second one.
