Love nosey neighbors

We live in a deed restricted community. 

We also need to submit an application when doing major renovations to your home.  We did it when we built our paver patio and we did it for this recent project. 

We took out the back wall of our house that sits on the patio and are putting in glass sliders.  The whole pack wall is ceiling to floor glass.  They just started 8:30 am this morning and all they did so far was bust the wall out.

A member of the board stopped by and told us a neighbor already called and complained and wanted to know if we submitted an application.

Wow, that's crazy.  What do they think you're going to do, just leave an unsightly gaping hole in your house?

Imagine living a life where whether or not your neighbors got a renovation permit from the HOA was so high on your list of Things to Worry About that you actually made a call to complain.  Good grief.

My mom's neighbors complained about her having a basketball hoop in her driveway and she got fined for it. (Yeah, it's against the HOA but a baskeball hoop? Really? When there are plenty of them in the neighborhood anyway?!) She left it up for over a year just to spite them. Then eventually paid the fine. So silly.
