We're here and almost all settled! The move was a holy freaking nightmare but we survived. MH and his long time friend did all the loading/unloading while I manned the van. When we got here they piled everything up in the living room and left to return the van, from that point on I switched to hard core Mary Poppins mode and organized EVERYTHING! All the 36 (THIRTY-SIX) boxes that I had literally JUST packed (grr). It took almost five hours and as I was emptying the last one the sofa arrived... it was wrapped in what must have been a mile of cellophane and ... dulcis in fundo... my only pair of scissors broke halfway through it. I started sobbing.
This morning we received the new ginormous king size bed!!! OMG we've never had one before, as soon as the guys left I jumped on it
I can't wait to put our jumping on the bed wedding picture right above it.
The place is gorgeous, I've spent at least thirty minutes daydreaming in my walk-in closet last night ![]()
OK, so we're done with this project now on to the next!
Re: Nesting from our new zip code!
Yay! Congratulations!
I laughed when I read the part about you bursting into tears when the scissors broke. That sounds like something I would do.
Good luck with settling in! Sounds like you got a lot done already.
Congrats! Sounds like a great place!
Funny too b/c H is begging for a bed upgrade (to king) when we move home. I'm kind of holding firm to no b/c our bedroom set is fairly new (ok, 6yrs, but to me that's newish), but I don't know... ginormous does sound nice... especially w/ our 40lb puppy-friend!
Enjoy the new digs!!!
Thank you ladies! Today it's "painting the walls day" before I go to work. We picked up a lovely lavender for the bedroom and ivory for the entryway/living room. I'm dreading the masking of all the molding but.. oh well.
VABeach you should totally go for the king! It's like sleeping on a space ship! LOL
Remind me where you moved again?
I told the husband after this move we are never ever ever moving ever again. It is too expensive!!!
I moved from Brooklyn to Manhattan... I know, SO far, right
But believe me you would think that you wouldn't feel any difference, when in fact is like living in a whole freaking another world!
Moving is outrageously expensive. We opted for a brutal DIY move (again) because our Ikea furniture was worth less than what professional movers would have cost us so MH decided to just let everything go and buy new furniture; which makes me really happy now that I see long desired pieces from Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel
Anyways, we saved but it's three days later and my adductors still hurt.
ETA: and just like you I'm never ever ever moving again!
