Because he's hilarious. H and I are sitting here killing ourselves at his comedy special on tv.
But we're east coasters, and this is distinctly our humor. I don't know if you Amurricans would get it.

Then I read further and realized this was probably not who you were talking about.

True story, my BIL has been asked a couple of times if he's Ron Jeremy. I don't see it.
This is a true story. My BIL is hands down the funniest person I have ever met in my whole life.
And I know who Ron Jeremy is, lol.
Fun fact: my BIL used to live in Peter North's old apartment (not at the same time).
