Vibram Five Fingers

Does anyone run in these? I saw this girl running toward me this morning and I knew - before she even got close - that she had to have these on because she was like running on air.

I really am curious, but I have bad knees and am not convinced that these would be good for me.

Re: Vibram Five Fingers

  • I have the new(er) New Balance (http://www.zappos.com/new-balance-wt20-grey-blue), not quite the Vibrams.

I work out and run (more work out, less run), and I LOVE them. I thought it was a crock, really. But I absolutely noticed a difference with them (both working out and running).

ETA: and I have bad knees and a history of pretty bad back problems.

  • I run in them.  I love running in them except they make my pinky toenails fall off.  Regular running shoes make my ankles and knees hurt too much....I can't run in them.

  • I do, some of the time. I like them, but mostly in warmer weather.

  • I don't run, but I want to get a pair because I think I would run if I had them.

  • Okay, I may have to check them out.

I will tell you - if you run in these - you look pretty hot. I was mesmerized by this girl today.

  • I have the Merrells posted above, which I use to work out (weight lifting, light cardio) but haven't been brave enough to run in them yet.  You definitely need to transition slowly or you will kill your shins!
  • I also have those merrells. I like those for cooler/cold weather. The sole is a bit thicker than the vibrams, so it's a different feel.

  • Do these have padding on the bottom, or what happens if you step on something? These shoes confuzzle me.
Always be yourself. Unless you suck.

No padding.  You have to scan what's ahead of you and avoid debris.

oooh.  Yeah, I'm way too klutzy for that. lol

  • I would like some for weightlifting. I'm not convinced vibrams would be good for distance running.

  • :)

There are plenty of marathon and ultra runners who run in vibrams, huaraches, barefoot, etc., and or a combination of all.

  • Totally opened this expecting it to be about a sex toy..... kinda disappointing.

    LOL.

That would have been an even more remarkable walk to the T this morning if this was the case.
