Aussie ladies... Help me with shopping please!
Hi ladies!
We are here and finally adjusting. I need some online shopping sites for clothing etc. Will you please send your suggestions. Something equivalent to Old navy Gap as well as kids clothing. Thanks in advance!
Re: Aussie ladies... Help me with shopping please!
That's what I hear, too (though I'm not a big online shopper).
Are you the one in Gladstone? I think for kids clothes Big W and Target would be good bets, hopefully you have those there!
For my LO I shop at Big W, Best for Less (kids store), Target and Pumpkin Patch. Sometimes KMart too. Online shopping is not big here. I just shipped a bunch of Old Navy clothes here. They ship to Australia. The shipping cost was about the same if I would've shipped the clothes to my mom and had her shipped them here. They took about a week to get here.
Yeah, the internet sucks in Australia. I'd suggest Old Navy and Gap.
Bookdepository.co.uk is good, too.
Huh? The INTERNET does not suck in Australia. It's the same internet as is in the rest of the world. There just aren't as many online stores that are based in Australia.
No it's not. It's much more expensive, a lot slower (in the US you get super high speed and unlimited downloads for a flat rate, around $50-70, and the speed stays the same even if you've been downloading continuously all month long) and there just aren't the online stores that there are in the US, if there is a store selling what you want, shipping is never free, and they usually can't do next day shipping. And there's no netflix. Trust me, it's not the same internet.
You do this everytime, Knitty! Maybe 10 years ago the internet sucked but I don't believe that there is a vast difference between Aus internet and American internet.
And yes, Australia doesn't have netflix but they do have Itunes. Its not the same and I would prefer to have Netflix. But Netflix and online shopping is not an internet problem.
Pumpkin patch is good (when they have sales!) and especially if you can get to one of their outlet stores - GREAT prices there
I have signed up for Australian target emails and they have sales ALL the time too, often 30% - and cute kids clothes
David Jones & Myers have nice kids sections - but they can be quite pricey
for really cheap stuff Big W & K-Mart are good too - just for the basics you know? I go to K-mart for all the cheap plastic toy stuff as it's SO much cheaper than anywhere else
the baby websites I like here are baby bunting, and bambino pronto
but they don't have a whole lot of clothing, more just baby products
I still buy most of dd's clothes in the US when we go back once a year at Carters, Old Navy, Gap, etc.
There is a Gap in Sydney CBD - but it's SO expensive compared to the states!
Oh yes, the non-internet based netflix and non-internet based online shopping. Or as we call it, the local shops.
And, maybe you have unlimited high speed internet, but it's not commercially available for anyone else.
Yes, I do tend to have to come in and correct you a lot, don't I? Must be annoying not to get to just blather on about total crap with impunity.
