I got THE BEST compliments tonight

I was telling a nurse that tonight was our last shift of the semester and we don't know what the schedule is for the summer.  She interrupted my sentence to say "Oh please! Oh PLEASE come back this summer! Don't take any vacations!"

then later I heard the charge nurse assigning the techs for the night and she was sending them all somewhere because "we have good volunteers tonight who actually do things"

I also briefly contemplated becoming a trauma surgeon, but I'm not smart enough to get a surgical residency, so it's a moot point.

Re: I got THE BEST compliments tonight

  • That is a great compliment. I'm glad you had a good night.

What is this boosh!t?  Of course you are.

Seriously, people. If your faith in humanity is destroyed because your parents told you there was a Santa Claus and as it turns out there is no Santa Claus, you are an ignorant, hypersensitive cry baby with absolutely zero perspective. - UnderwaterRhymes

Baby steps.  Your confidence is low because it has been a challenging year.  But once you are in fourth year of med school you'll know you can handle it. You are smart.  Plus, surgery is all about the hands.  Some people have it, some don't. All the brains in the world can't make up for that.
  • You are the best!

And you could totally be a trauma surgeon if you wanted to be.
