swimmers: favorite shampoo and/or conditioner?
what's your favorite shampoo and/or conditioner to keep your hair looking good after being in a chlorinated pool?
Re: swimmers: favorite shampoo and/or conditioner?
I don't use anything special, either. I do, however, always rinse my hair in the shower before I get in the pool. I was told long ago that your hair can only absorb so much water, so if it's soaked with clean water, it won't absorb the chlorinated.
I haven't exactly searched out peer-reviewed research on that claim, but it's what I've always done & after 20 years I still don't have swimmer's hair. If you have color treated hair, I would check with your stylist or use your favorite brand of color protection shampoo.

I use loral kids chlorine and sun shampoo. Seems to help the getting the chlorine out. My hair dresser couldn't tell I had started swimming again. As pp mentioned, wetting your hair with water or spray in conditioner is good to help your hair not absorb the chlorine in the first place. I just naturally have really dry hair so wetting it alone doesn't work for me. I really miss the Malibu swimmers line that used to be around when I was in high school. That stuff was awesome.
