The burn I gave myself with an iron the other night....it hurts. WWMLD?
While ironing a craft the other night with DD, and while explaining to her dont ever go near, touch one, etc, I burned the side of my forearm. ABout a 1/4" wide x 1" long part of my arm. I put ice and cold water on it right away and kept it on for quite some time. Now it has scabbed, it is a VERY tiny bit swollen, and skin around it is not pink, or showing any signs of being infected at all.
BUT the skin AROUND the burn is very sensitive to touch even though I didn't even burn it there. IS this a normal thing with such a stupid-a$$-idiotic burn?

It's normal, though super sucky.
Do you have lavender oil? I've been using it since culinary school, even on ***-azz-bad steam burns and stuff and I've found it helps immensely to dab some on, also seems to help with scarring. You could mix some peppermint in there too, the cooling feeling is super nice!
Burns suck. I have had some great ones on my arms from reaching in hot ovens. Comes with being a Chef though.
Just keep it clean and it will eventually heal. Did it blister?
It didn't blister, which I was surprised. It just left a nasty mark.
No lavender oil or peppermint. I have diaper rash cream and some itch relief gel not sure if that would work..
I guess I will just keep it clean hoping it won't last much longer. Maybe put some ice on it again to just keep it cool.
