I'm not sure how we did it but...

somehow the command 'wait' has turned from a "stay" to "sit and freeze till she says okay." I'm don't know how that happened but I am LOVING it! Especially when Collins is hyper and there's something on her face I want to wipe off and she won't let me catch her.

  • Hehe I love when they make up new rules for commands. I originally taught "get your dish" for my dog to get her dish anxd she has come up with a whole bunch of other words for the same command. "are you hungry" "dinner" "breakfast" the sound of a particular computer program shutting down, the computer shutting down sound, etc. Its rather humorus.
  • Ha! That's awesome. DH just has to put his Xoom down around dinner or breakfast time and they're in a frenzy cuz 'OMG! ITS TIME TO EAT! ITS THE BEST TIME EVER!!!!!!!"

  • Love this!! Zoey is so good at waiting to eat! But she hasn't started performing "wait" when other words are said yet; that'll be an interesting one to see!

  • Dogs are a lot smarter than people think they are.  We've taught Hilo "stay" to not move until we say ok and "wait" to stay temporarily.  He also knows "wipe your mouth" haha cuz he gets these pimple looking things under his chin and we think it's from the food.

If you're patient, you can teach your dog a lot of things.  Like when it's raining, "wipe your feet" tells Hilo to go wipe his feet before coming in.
