PIP: Can someone look at my picture and tell me how to improve it?
I took this picture at a dimly lit restaurant (using Canon P&S), and I wanted to know what I can do to make it so non-yellow?
1. Am I able to take a better picture (considering being dimly lit) using my P&S? Or, should I use my dSLR next time?
2. Is this picture salvageable in Lightroom?
Re: PIP: Can someone look at my picture and tell me how to improve it?
I stole the picture and threw it into iPhoto to play around a little. I brightened it with the exposure setting then played with the tints and temp. and the shadows... Because the res. was so low it's not great, but I think you could do something if you have the original.
It's a little less yellow...

I played with PicMonkey a bit. What do you think of this??
Love it, much better! Is PicMonkey free? Is it easy to navigate?
I also wish I knew what to do (camera wise) to take clear pictures in a dimly lit room...
I'm glad you like it!!
Yes, it's free. It is really easy to use. You just kind of play around with it and get what you like by trial and error.
I have a lot of trouble with light too. From experience, I have learned to only take my pictures in the daytime, using natural light or else I always seem to get yellow or blue pictures. And, unfortunately, photoshop programs can only fix so much of it. But, I have a baking blog, so I can do that. It's not so easy if you are blogging dinner.
You can also play around with the white balance n your camera, but I haven't had too much luck with that yet.
