BB&B PSA

I wanted to pass on this tip in case any of you have had the same problem.

My BFF bought dark colored towels from BB&B and found that several of them came out of the washer with a tied dyed effect, almost like bleach was spilled on them.  So we stopped into BB&B with said towels.

She was told this happens freq.  and the best way to prevent it is to 'set the dye' by washing before use with cold water, blah blah, blah...... Basically blaming my friend for not washing the towels correctly.

I asked where this was stated on the care label, and found it is NOT noted anywhere??!?!?! I asked for a refund or new towels.  She got new towels plus one for free.  If these fade she plans on returning them.

Do not let them get away with this nonsense.

Re: BB&B PSA

  • Thanks for the tip. Good for BBB's return policy. I always wash my towels in cold water before first use to do this. That way there's less possibility of the dye running in later washes.

  • That sucks..but it happens a lot of places.

My Kohl's towels we registered for did that. Along with fraying at the edges.

I took them back and the manager told me it happens all the time and to avoid it you need to wash cold first, then consistently wash in cold on gentle and hang dry.

It is not explained anywhere in all of Kohl's either.

I just used them until they were wrecked and bought some other ones elsewhere..I don't have time to take "precious" care of my towels.

  • BB&B's return policy is actually far far better than this.  There policy is that they can not say no.  If you buy a bathroom set and decide in 2 years that you no longer like it you can bring it back and exchange/return it.  If you bleach your black towels and don't like it, you can return/exchange.  If your 5 year old Dyson stops working you can bring it back and exchange it for a new one, if they no longer have that model you will get the model that replaced it.

No receipt needed, should be no questions asked.  One of my good friends runs the returns department at our local BB&B and the things that she's taken back are disgusting some times.
