I am obsessed with this bathing suit but I need support and lots of it. Plus white is impractical for me:
So my first question is - would it be super weird to wear a strapless bra under a bathing suit?
My second question is - have you seen this suit anywhere else (or one like it) in something other than white?
Thanks!
Re: bathing suit help.
yes, it would be super weird and no i havent seen it anywhere else.
My concern would be the metal part on top of the suite. It will burn you in the sun when it gets hot.
I agree about the tan lines and the metal part getting hot in the sun.
The description says there are padded cups, which leads me to believe there is some kind of shelf bra built in to the top. You can't just have padded cups on a loose style like that, it wouldn't make sense.
Don't wear a bra under it, but if you love the suit, see it in person and see what the built-in bra/cups situation is, if it would be supportive enough for you or not.

A bra will show the second it gets wet since it's a white suit. It's not going to look right at all since the bra will sag and make the suit sag.
When I looked on google, it only shows up in white on all the stores including Michael Kors. You may want to check back at nordstrom in a couple of weeks or call one of his stores to see if they are going to release it in another color.
I wouldn't worry about the tanline or the metal. With a bandeau tankini, you can untie the straps while lounging to avoid tanlines without your top falling off or stay under an umbrella with a spray tan. As far as the metal piece goes, I have about a dozen suits with similar embellishment that I wear at home or on vacation and none have ever had the metal pieces get really hot, even in the Caribbean. One of my favorite suits has a metal piece in a similar place and I wore it for most of my last cruise.
For suits with more support look into brands including 2 Bamboo, Miraclesuit (some of the tankinis can be cute), Panache, Freya, Fantasie, or any other brand that also makes lingerie. Look at place like Fig Leaves or Bare Necessities. I always check TJ Maxx for suits at some point during season since I get bored with suits and wear one almost daily at our pool in the Summer.
I have huge problems finding suits that fit because I am a 34G on top but only a size 8 so most suits I find just don't fit right and are big everywhere else.
I will check out the bathing suit companies recommended thanks.
I'm not worried about tan lines because I usually have more than one a season and get them in all different styles so tan lines aren't a problem. I've had suits with metal also and they've never burned but thanks for the thoughts!
I am in love with the cut of the suit (how it gathers at the neck and the poof part above the elastic bottom) but I would never ever in 100 years buy a white suit. Hopefully I can find something similar in a different color. They have one pieces too so maybe I will just end up with a one piece in a color.
Interesting idea of sewing a bra into the suit. I wonder if a seamstress could do that for me. I'll look into it.
Thanks guys!
I have the same issue and find it's trial and error to find a good fit. I have a ton of suits for that reason, but since I live in them at our pool I really only care if we have guests. Lol! I love that suit too and hope it does come out in colors since I stay away from white too. Every suit brand I rec'd has cup and band sizes for a 34G, except Miraclesuit but their soft cup suits are supportive and work well for me in a similar size. Some are European so you would have to translate the sizing over but they all carry smaller bottoms and bra sized tops. Most have their bra brands carried at Nordstrom, but not the swimwear. You can get sizing ideas by trying them there.
I would think I good tailor could sew cups into a suit pretty easily. I think someone here has had it done regularly with suits they liked. You may have to buy them at a fabric store, but I know either of mine could do that alteration. Look for JoAnn's coupons if you go that route since they always have 40-50% off ones.
This one is similar and comes in black, purple, turquoise, white, and coral:

LOL...the suit I got from them was Splendid...not even kidding! You should post the stuff you got! (if you haven't already, haha).
That's a good point about the tops working for lounging around the pool in the summers, didn't even think about that!
OP, hopefully those will work for you too!
