I was on retreat this weekend. I had planned on getting my long run in yesterday morning but didn't. Luckily today is a beautiful day for running. Except now I feel like crap. I slept maybe five hours last night. My stomach is in crampy knots after the bus ride home where I barely made it off before throwing up (which I didn't). I just slept for about an hour hoping to feel better, but no. And I also have diarrhea.
Should I sleep some more and hope I feel better? Am I crazy to run 9 miles the Monday before the marathon? Just suck it up and stay close to home for a probably crap run right now? Other thoughts?

Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!

Running on the Rhode
I hate you very much
Rest, sleep it off. At this point, you only risk hurting yourself. Do what you can Monday, but do NOT feel like it has to be 9mi. Hal Higdon says 8mi for the last long one, and it's way better to have a longer taper than one that is too short--especially for your first one.
In the long run, the rest will benefit you more than stressing your systems further. And I will *not* stand for another friend bailing on this race! Feel better soon.
