It is amazing to me how quickly they can pass in and out of sleep.
Also, she has some kind of goopiness in her right eye. Please tell me it's just a blocked duct! Should I squirt some breastmilk in it??
Re: milk coma!
she is so so sweet.
i have no idea what the goop is. if it's not bright yellow or green, i wouldn't worry.
It can't hurt to put BM in it. I did each time it was clogged and it worked like a charm. I've also heard that people massage it with a warm cloth but the milk worked for me so I didn't have to do that.
She's so cute Tamb. I love those milky drunks.
H thought it was pinkeye at first, and I was really pissed off because I overheard another mom in the pediatrician's office last week talking about pinkeye at her kid's daycare or something.. but the white part of the eye doesn't look red. The lid just looks a little irritated (maybe from rubbing), and it is oozing from the inside corner. I guess I will call the pediatrician's office tomorrow and see what they say.
I love her so much! Even though she didn't let me get any sleep during my "shift" last night. I am either getting more relaxed or more desperate, because this afternoon, I kind of dozed on the couch while holding her with the boppy blocking her from rolling off onto the floor. I'm not going to tell H, though, because the other night I told H he absolutely COULD NOT hold her and sleep. lol
I have been meaning to tell you how much I love your new sig!
lol! So cute.
The eye goop is normal. If it turns green or the whites of her eyes get red then see the pedi.
With pinkeye, pull down her bottom lid and look at the inside of the lid. If it's super red, it could be pinkeye. The white of the eye is not always pink/red with pinkeye.
A newborn is a bundle of joys and worries, but I hope someday soon you will feel more comfortable sleeping while holding her for little naps and letting your H do the same. There is not much that is more wonderful than snuggling and sleeping with your baby! I miss those days. :-(
awwwwww, she is so sweet!
re: sleep, I couldn't sleep with them the first month or two either. Which sucks because that's when you need it the most, but I was terrified. As they got chunkier and my hormones leveled down, I started enjoying sleeping on my side with a baby on my boob.
I usually lurk but just wanted to say its not pink eye. Just a blocked tearduct. Massage gently from the inner corner of her eye down the bridge of nose few times a day. It will clear up. My son had the same thing & that was his doc's advice.
Btw, she is totally adorable!
Love milk comas.
