This is what just occurred.
Dad: Will you post this car I'm trying to sell on craigslist? I can't figure out how to put pictures on it.
Me: Sure. Stop by and I'll take pics of it.
(Dad stops by, Emmii takes pics, dad says he'll email the info for the post.)
Email from dad: 2000 ford foucs--call or text xxx-xxx-xxxx....asking $3800 O.B.O. Serious inquires only! Runs and Rides Great!! Must see and drive to apprieciate!!
(Emmii shakes head, wonders how an intelligent and literate daughter came from this man.)
Emmii posts: 2000 Ford Focus. $3800. Call or text xxx-xxx-xxxx. Runs and rides great!
Ring, ring! Dad texts: U must of got my car on cr.list? I had a guy call me 3 times. But all it says is runs and rides great? what happen to rest of advertisement?
Emmii: "Serious inquiries only" doesn't stop non serious people from calling you. "Must see to appreciate" makes people wonder why you're talking fluff and not putting in details like mileage. It makes people think you're shady. You didn't need that fluff if you weren't going to put important details.
Dad: I've sold and BOUGHT many cars...people like to know alittle about a vehicle...thanks anyway!!
"People like to know a little about a vehicle?" What does "Serious inquiries only, must see and drive to appreciate" tell them about the vehicle?
I guess my entire hard-core 10 year sales career hasn't taught me ANYTHING about selling things to people!

He just forwarded me a car ad from CL to "prove" that if u read the other cars for sale you'll get more knoledge on that area.
It said, "body has 175,000. Engine has roughly 100,000. Couple dings n dents. Missing glass on left front light."
My only assumption is that he's going back to the "people like to know alittle about a vehicle". Although, what his "serious inquiries only, must see and drive to appreciate" has in similarity to "175k miles, dings and dents, and missing glass", I'm not quite sure. Apparently I should have included a definition for the word "details", because he's missing the point entirely while just trying to "prove" his.
