Can we have a WTF Monday post???

I need to vent!

Tuesday and Wednesday are holidays in Madrid. Most of my students have told me that they are not coming in today. Cool!!! Long weekend, right??? No, I have two students, in two different classes, who havent been to class in over a month. They sendt me an email or text to tell me that today of all days, they are coming to class. Really?????

WTF?? You never come to class but today you feel like going???

Re: Can we have a WTF Monday post???

  • Crazy.. In my school we have 2 teachers out on vacations, and then a 3rd teacher decided to quit today, no notice and really no call in but wow we will be better off without her then.

  • Ahhh...just what I needed today :) (Sorry I have not posted too much lately, been running around like a madwoman visiting family and having Emma's baptism before we leave for Scotland)

A little background:  SIL has two DD's and mailed me three large boxes of moderately used baby girl clothes last summer...fast forward to January, she asks for them back because they are TTGP again.  Since we are in the middle of a move, I now I have to somehow find room in our car to cram in these clothes....I was appreciated of the clothes, yet annoyed that one month after DD, she is asking for them back...but that is a whole other story...

Jump to March: SIL and DH's brother share the news that they are pregnant! We are very happy for them. SIL says they are hoping for a boy because they have two DDs and they cannot wait to find out the sex.  I in my infinite wisdom decide to tell her about intellingender. I told her that it has a 50% accuracy rate (I do not have the exact %, but hey common sense should prevail here)

Series of Facebook posts over the weekend:

SIL: According to intelligender, we are having a...boy!!!!! (comments soon begin pouring in congratulating them on their baby "boy"

MIL: I cannot wait to start buying boy clothes!!!

DH:  Congrats, Emma is excited for a boy cousin! (why DH....why...I thought you were better than this...)

Facebook post on my wall this morning from SIL: Since we are having a boy, I guess I did not need those clothes back after all, lol!!!

I have yet to responded her because one, I am at a loss for words over this debacle, two, I am very afraid something snarky will slip out of my mouth...

Icing on this sh*tsicle...SIL is currently studying for her PHD in nursing Indifferent

whew, that feels better to get off my chest...Happy Monday ya'll!

  • Ccip, that is priceless! I've heard pregnancy affects the brain, so maybe she can use that as an excuse when she finds out she is having twin girls and not a boy :)
  • lol, the thing is, I love my SIL...she is the sweetest person and extremely book smart...the only problem is I think she got short changed in the common sense department at times...

  • Wow - that someone working on her PhD in nursing doesn't realize how little an Intelligender means is kind of scary. I hope she doesn't get serious gender disappointment if it turns out to be a girl.

    And mine:

WTF, UN. Why did you think it was ok to just list in your reports "3 missions did this, 8 missions did this" without listing which missions?? These are positive measures for which the missions should be commended, not negative things to hide. I swear sometimes you just want to make my job more difficult. Thank you, though, for being easier to research than the EU.
