Back at work- ugh!

I know, you feel so sorry for me Stick out tongue

Amsterdam was such a beautiful city, and the Dutch are all very nice and cool people! It was our first time to Europe and I see now why people want to travel all over the continent when you get there- everything seems so close!

DH was sick for 2 days, so we didn't get out of the city as much as we'd planned, but it still was a relaxing and much-needed vacation. He was able to get out of bed to go tour the Red Light District with me one night, which was... interesting, to say the least. Most of the girls looked bored, smoking and playing on their phones.

Here's something random- we didn't see any cops until the last day, when we saw 2 cops walking through the RLD at 10am (we were going to tour the Oude Kerk). We didn't see any need for cops, though, as everyone seemed very chill and peaceful.

The gardens at Keukenhof were definitely a highlight- SO much beauty!

Surprisingly, the best part of our vacation was the day after we got back, when I got a BFP! Our technical due date is December 21st, and my first ultrasound is next week, on the 9th. DH and I have been wanting this for a while now, so we're really excited! We aren't putting anything on FB yet, though, so I hope you who are my friends there won't mention anything.

Now, I really need to start working on this pile here on my desk, but there's a little recap for you! Have a fantastic Monday (or just drink a shitton of coffee to get through it faster)!

  • Welcome back and BIG congrats on the positive test!    You are one of the few people on my list that I am happy to hear this news from, so lots of hugs and best wishes for a healthy nine months!

Glad to hear you loved Amsterdam as much as I did and bummer about your H being sick.   I can't wait to see pics when you are able to share them.     Hope work treats you well this week and it's not too overwhelming trying to catch up!

  • Welcome back, glad you guys had fun, and congrats on your news!
  • Missed you too, PiFace!!

Erin- Thanks for you recs, although we didn't make it to a sex show ($50pp without drinks to watch people have sex just didn't appeal to us that particular night), we still had a really good time. It was funny watching boys try to negotiate with the RLD girls and get shut down... very entertaining!

I really need to get pics up soon, I know!

  • Welcome back!!! And congrats!!! Smile

  • Welcome back, Missus!  We just got from Europe late Wednesday night.  It's funny to think that we were on the same continent at the same time halfway around the world!  MyVal just returned home not long ago, too.

I saw some of your posts on FB about your H being sick.  That really sucks, but I'm glad you all still had a good time.  I can't wait to see the rest of your pics.  And of course, congrats again on your BFP! :)

MH and I had the same discussion about cops in Europe while we were there.  We visited 6 countries and it was very interesting to compare the differences between there and here in the States.  After talking to locals and getting insight about crime rates and such, we came to the conclusion that MH has to worry about a LOT more danger being a police officer here.  I told him this gives us another reason to move overseas but he didn't go for it, lol.

I know, it's kind of crazy to think that we were all over in the same area and none of us have met here... how cool would it have been to have a Europe GTG?!

I'm glad you made it back safely and I can't wait to see your pictures!
