Ceiling painting costs...
We're in need of having our ceilings painted. It's about 1200 sq that we need painted. We got a quote for $1100 for just the ceilings. Does that seem high?
FYI...I live outside of Boston if that matters.

I live outside of NYC at that seems high to me, but I'm a cheapskate. My house is about the same size. It took about a week to paint our whole house from top to bottom ourselves, ceilings included.
If you have unusually high or vaulted ceilings it might be trickier, but I recommend wrangling your friends and offering beer in return.
Or, it's not rocket science, I'm sure you could hire someone off craigslist for cheaper, and if you ask, I'm sure you can get some references from them. If you go this path, just make sure your insurance would cover them if anything happened.

That seems maybe a little high, but not far off.
We got quoted $2500 to have the same amount of sq footage scraped and painted. Scraping is a lot more work than painting, so I would think it would be less than 1k.
Painting ceilings is pretty annoying, but you could do it for about $200 yourself. Thats what I did, and I was happy with that decision.
