16 Week Bump and What I Did This Weekend PIP

I ran my 2nd Half Marathon on Saturday up at the University of Illinois (actually did a 5k on Friday night and the 1/2 on Saturday). It was tough, but I wasn't going into the race with any other expectations than just finishing.

I was about 3 minutes slower than my first race in October, but I wasn't disappointed. The hardest part was having to pee since around mile 2. It was cold and really windy. I was sore on Saturday and a little yesterday, but feel much more normal today.

  • Holy crap. Can I be you? My lazy, fat pregnancy ass can barely keep up with my 3 year old and here you are running marathons and looking amazing. Way to kick some ass!

    hi.
  • WOW! That is awesome! I spent the weekend with my sister who is just under 5 months and she could go up one flight of stairs with out having to sit down to recover.
  • thanks guys. I found out I was pregnant in week 2 of training. I made it my personal goal to not skip a single training run and I did it. It was tough with an aggressive schedule with at least 2 mid-week runs at 5 and 6 miles.

Getting through the 1st trimester exhaustion part was awesome and I think running is the reason I didn't have much morning sickness this go around. Regardless, I really committed to the training when it would have been so SO easy to let it go and it really paid off.
