How do you store cashmere? Cedar?
Do you use cedar blocks? I am getting ready to pack my winter stuff away and I bought quite a few cashmere sweaters this year. I don't want them to get holes!
Re: How do you store cashmere? Cedar?
I use lavender scented mothball satchets that I buy from Target. I get better results with those instead of cedar blocks.
ETA: I dry clean all my sweater before storing away.
This year I'm going to use space bags (well, knock offs from Harbor Freight). Those are the bags where you can vacuum out the air. TBy removing the air they seal the clothes off from the moths and don't require as much storage space.
We have a cedar closet, but despite sanding it it still doesn't really smell so I don't think it helps. I don't find the blocks to do much unless they are in a very small closed space.
This is the most important thing to do before storing sweaters for winter. I also make sure all of my dress clothes are cleaned since moths attacked DH suit last year.
